Type Locality and Naming

By the village of Kichkina-Charvak, S. Nuratau Range. R.R. Usmanov et al. (1984f.) mapped and assigned to the Ilonchisay Fm; in 1988, they gave it the name Kichkinacharvak (Usmanov et al., 1988f.).

Synonym: Kichkinacharvak Suite, Кичкиначарвакская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Polymictic fine-grained sandstones, bluish-greenish-gray, greenish-gray, interbedded with siltstone (aleurolites) and clayey, clayey-mica slates of gray and dark-gray color. Thickness 250-500 m.
